A turn-based RPG adventure, full of video game references, juvenile dialogue, and anime fanservice... and also strategic combat, monster catching, and tons of treasure hunting! Updated with tons of new content!

W game broo, wish i would 100% it, but it def will take me a long time and also my sanity..
I love this game! I'm not usually a fan of turn-based combat in RPGs, but this game does it in a way that manages to keep you engaged the whole time. But I think the best aspect of EBF5 is, by far, the amount of charm and personality everything has, from the art, to the character dialogue.
everything about this game is good and nothing is bad.
It's still so peak 😭 Atleast battle-wise
In spite of enjoying 4 the most, this just ended up feeling like a leap backwards. Takes itself to seriously it's lost it's own purpose. Lost the 2x speed to make it even the slightest bit more tolerable. Horrid capture gimmick that is nothing but a time sync and is more or less required (this or some other timewasting addition anyway) to get the "true" ending. Just cause you have the characters repeatedly say what garbage and how time wasting the capture system is, doesn't actually make it better, it's not satirical if you are just fully committing the thing you mock (and that can be said for a awful lot in this game). Battles feel sluggish and not just without the speed up function but generally, like every action has a second pause while the cpu works out what its going to do and rolls a dice on proc chances, minor but constant and adds up so fast. And all so you can play a story that 95% literally doesn't matter, complete and utter fluff, that does nothing, this world and it's story doesn't matter just the end boss where all the real deal is dumped on you. Say what you like about games like Final Fantasy 8, but the clues to what was coming are there, regardless what the media illiterate don't get. Polished more then 4, but overly polished, all "bouncing animations" and the rest lost the charm of the past entries, plus even on a steam deck makes it run like garbage (probably why it never got the 2x speed function added) If my general taste and want to sit down with an RPG that tells a story and not just trope by numbers and mocking those that do things better hadn't changed, this title would have still killed my interest in any future entries of this series. Waste my time on a story worth giving a damn about not this garbage pseudo reboot but not nonsense.
