Im a new player, handicapt (only one hand functiones). This game is difficult for me, its wonderfull. I have a Woodproduction and its awsome. Thank you gamemakers ;-)
Adding up all the time I have spent across every game in the franchise, including the Switch versions, I have about 5,000 hours in Farming Simulator. I love this game. It is my relaxing game. It is the game I play when I'm trying to break through writer's block. I love it so much that I can stare at the screen, watch a potato harvester go brrrrr, and genuinely find it entertaining. Keep that in mind as you read this: I love this franchise. And while it has improved tremendously over time, I believe it is about time Giants put more of the simulation into Farming Simulator. Mud, terrain deformation, actual soil compaction, crop rotation, diseases, pests other than weeds, humidity—all of this should be part of the base game. I understand if Giants wants to keep the game accessible and casual, but these systems could simply be optional. Precision Farming is a step in the right direction, but it is not enough. And while I am extremely excited about the alpacas, coffee, bananas, and the new map coming up, I think Giants may have been focusing on the wrong area when it comes to AI helpers. Don't make them better at operating the cool harvesters. Make them better at driving grain carts, trailers, and trucks back and forth between the fields and the silos. I don't want the AI to operate the cool harvester while I haul grain. I want to operate the cool harvester. Let the AI do the hauling. If a mod like Courseplay can automate harvesters, tractors with trailers, field unloading, transport, and silo unloading as one continuous operation, I don't understand why the game's built-in helpers can't provide at least a simpler version of the same thing. I believe in you, Giants.
it's fun but the performance is actually abysmal, might be the most unoptimized game I've ever played, but this gameplay is obviously crazy slow and the performance honestly doesn't hurt the fun too badly because of the pace of the game. Get it on sale, not full price
i mowed grass for 5hrs
I honestly lost all motivation to play after the latest update. I have spent a huge amount of time building and customizing my farm on an existing save. After the update, trees that I had previously removed suddenly came back. And they didn’t just appear somewhere harmless. They spawned inside my cow barn, garages, factories, silos and other buildings. Some of them are literally impossible to remove because the building completely covers the tree, so I can’t even target it with an object-removal mod. What am I supposed to do now? Demolish an expensive factory, remove the tree, and build the factory again? And repeat that everywhere this happened? This is a farming game where players can spend hundreds of hours developing a single save. An update should NEVER restore map objects that a player deliberately removed and place them through buildings and other objects created later. I had literally just finished developing my farm, and instead of enjoying it, I’m now expected to spend my time and in-game money cleaning up damage caused by an update. Yes, I could demolish buildings, remove the trees and rebuild everything. But that’s not the point. I shouldn’t have to repair my save because an update broke it. Right now, opening the game feels like starting over rather than continuing the farm I’ve spent so much time building. Please fix this and, more importantly, provide a way to remove the incorrectly restored trees from existing saves without forcing players to demolish their buildings. Until this is fixed, I genuinely don’t feel like playing anymore.
Farming Simulator 25
Excellent visuals, but I recommend waiting for a sale. Updated September 9, 2026. Written as an FS22 player, FS25 server renter, and someone with small-farm and livestock experience.
The Good
Pumps N' Hoses is finally here The free Pumps N' Hoses Pack launched on September 8, developed by Creative Mesh and published by GIANTS. This is exactly the kind of farming-focused addition I welcome. I hope returning content continues to be improved and expanded, not simply brought across from FS22 and left there. Excellent graphics and ground deformation The detailed graphics look fantastic. Visually, I have little to complain about. Ground deformation is a genuine improvement. Tires leaving ruts and reacting to softer ground make fieldwork feel more physical. I like how vehicles affect the ground, even though the separate landscaping tool still needs work.
The Mixed: Not Entirely Good or Bad
Familiar gameplay, but familiar limitations Coming from FS22, the familiar experience makes it easy to settle in. However, some areas feel more like a continuation than a meaningful upgrade. To my ears, the standard sound design feels familiar too. I have not noticed the same leap in audio that I see in the graphics. A good animal selection, but limited involvement I enjoy the variety of livestock, but animal farming should involve more than supplying resources and waiting for products. I grew up watching my father shear sheep and have raised chickens myself, so the simplified care routines stand out to me. Reasons for cautious optimism Beans & Alpacas, scheduled for October 27, 2026, promises manual shearing or hiring a worker. That is exactly the kind of choice I want. I want that approach extended to existing livestock, especially sheep. I hope GIANTS is adapting, but I am not putting all my eggs in one basket.
The Bad: Areas That Need Improvement
Animal care needs substantially more depth Chickens are my clearest example: the standard care system requires feeding but no water-refilling task. Having raised chickens, I find that disappointing. A basic water-care option should be a free improvement, not paid DLC. I also want bedding replacement, coop cleaning, day-and-night routines, and optional illness and flock-health management. Caring for animals should mean more than filling a resource meter. Breeding could involve rams for sheep and a meaningful rooster role in producing chicks. Hens do not need a rooster to lay ordinary eggs, but breeding chicks is different. I also want to raise young male chicks, not just buy adult roosters. Sheep should offer manual shearing or hiring a shearer. That should not be an interaction reserved for a different animal in an expansion. I want deeper links between soil condition, crop and feed quality, storage, pests, and animal health. Advanced systems could be optional. I would consider an animal-care expansion, but basic care should not require another purchase. Repairs should involve more than a menu The repair experience still feels too familiar to me. I would like to open the hood, inspect components, identify a problem, order parts through a farmhouse computer, and use the appropriate tools to fix it. Filters, batteries, belts, brakes, hydraulics, and damaged header teeth could provide practical tasks. Repair skills could improve with experience. Players wanting convenience could pay a mechanic or request vehicle collection and delivery. Cleaning and maintenance could affect component wear and metal corrosion more meaningfully, creating practical work and a foundation modders could expand. Landscaping, roads, and fences need better tools The landscaping interface still feels too close to the FS22 experience. I want more precise controls and an easier way to browse and apply modded ground, yard, and road textures through clearly organized categories. A connected road tool would help: place control points, adjust curves and heights, and let the road follow or shape the terrain. Fences also need smoother placement and alignment. Building a farm should feel creative, not awkward. Forestry needs a more noticeable step forward Logging and chainsaw audio feel very familiar. I wanted better handling and more interaction, not simply more equipment. I would welcome optional tree regeneration, including a simplified setting where retaining a stump allows regrowth and removing it prevents that regrowth. This would not need to apply to every species. Server owners should be able to disable it. Weather should interact more convincingly with vehicles I have noticed rain audio that makes it sound as though rain is hitting the vehicle even when it is sheltered inside a building. That breaks the immersion. I want more convincing rain and snow effects on windows, with water running across the glass and wipers making a practical difference to visibility. The server-management interface feels outdated As a paying server renter, the web panel I use is a frustration. I have not found convenient mod-name searching, useful active/inactive filters, or straightforward bulk selection and removal. Managing many mods should not require so much manual searching. Removing selected mods or clearing the collection should be straightforward without risking the savegame. This describes the panel I use, not every hosting provider. Mod support and content priorities concern me Modders add enormous value, but the variety available for my interests has grown more slowly than I hoped. I have heard complaints about restrictive approvals, but cannot verify individual cases or blame every delay on GIANTS. Quality testing matters, especially in multiplayer. I would like a clearer, efficient approval process that supports creative mods without unnecessary restrictions. The free Emergency Pack from Creative Mesh, published by GIANTS, is not content I personally want on my server. Rural emergencies have a place, but firefighting is not my priority in a farming game. I would rather see more depth in everyday farm work. Smaller farms deserve more attention My experience included a small John Deere used for mowing and pulling a wagon, not a fleet of expensive commercial machinery. I want more emphasis on that starting point: compact equipment, hand tools, small trailers, and practical small-farm jobs. Small tractors exist, but I want stronger gameplay around them and progression toward larger operations. More optional multiplayer systems would help I would like a built-in way to list and sell an entire farm to another player, not just manage individual land purchases. Player-run stalls where people buy and sell goods would also make a server feel more connected. Optional hunger, thirst, fatigue, and workplace injuries could add depth to realism-focused servers. Owners should control these settings and recovery times, with everything switchable off.
Final Verdict
Worth considering at a discount, but not worth full price to me right now. FS25 has strengths, and Pumps N' Hoses is a positive step. However, too much still feels like FS22 with improvements around it, not the deeper farming simulator I hoped for. I want more attention given to existing systems before the focus moves to the next addition. Farming should feel like more than operating increasingly large equipment. Before buying, watch an ongoing YouTube series from someone who plays regularly. Look beyond trailers and opening episodes, and check which features come from the base game, DLC, or mods. Overall, it is a decent game with potential, but it still needs substantial improvement. Do your research and buy it on sale.
I'm quitting this crappy game now there's bug after bug and other crap all the time. I played on a forest level before this update that came out now and it made all the Forest come back everywhere in the building in tractors in machines in fields and so on. And there are several thousand trees I've cut down. And I've done all the tips and advice I can find online to try to restore my save file but it doesn't work I have almost 560 hours and now I'm giving up on this game! Way too many bugs!!!
Good game, greedy company.
