I been playing since the game came out. Got all the dlc,s ,love driving the US.My only gripe about the game is, it needs seasonal weather :)
This is the most relaxing game i ever played on steam. This game is realistic and open world your a truck driver delivery cargo across the USA and going through the states like in real life 10/10 game.
This game is going to have to be tagged with fantasy soon for the availability of gas. The game is quite fun and a relaxing time though
Look - I have basically paid a quarter an hour (USD) for this game. That is a steal at any possible level. An old school arcade, the cheapest legal entertainment you've ever enjoyed - or any modern entertainment available (I'm in the US, fwiw) ~600 hours, $180 bucks over a decade recorded. Every DLC that's not a paint job or wheels. This game is worth it if you dig the idea of trucking. I grew up with a pops that drove for 50 years before he passed - this game, is my way of connecting with those memories hauling across the US in Kenworth's, Pete's and Freightliner's hauling everything under the sun across the 90s-2010s as I grew up over every holiday and break I had from school. So I have a bit of bias here. The traffic can be janky, the graphics are insane for a decade old game under constant dev. Mods are necessary (imo) especially if you stick around for this long. Every state brings warm memories, and wonderful imperfections created by a passionate team that actually travels this country documenting what they see to build in what they can within their constraints. Chicago is a little rough, but they are actively improving states like Cali, Nevada and I am sure others to come as they develop across three layers. The core game is solid, you'll have a blast - get a racing wheel cheap online or used. It's worth it. The secondary layer which is new states can be hit and miss, on smaller states there are certainly some misses that concern me a bit as we get into the smaller Eastern states but I have confidence the team has plans for this, is aware, and is actively working to address through early state reworks. The third is Road Trip - coming a few weeks after this review. I have NOT played it - but I am excited. I think its a wonderful concept that will grow and develop that has been built as a passion project by a dedicated team that clearly is SO excited about what they are getting to work on (read those news posts) and I think that is key to healthy vibrant development of this game a decade on, with half a country to go - and adding Canada!! That said, I've never had a place or state I avoid hauling. I love it all. ATS is a happy place, filled with all the good, and very little of the bad (especially if you customize the Gameplay settings to your liking) of real life driving. I have very little negative to say about this game, nothing that can't be solved with mods and some chill. And to my folks at SCS Software - if you ever read this - thank you for giving a fella a way to relive his best memories as a kid with his family through traveling the US hauling stuff with his Dad. From breakdowns in Gallup to playing in the Colorado River in the mountains this game has given me so much joy I can never express fully.
Love it, but these DLCs are too expensive given how many there are. It's currently $295 for all of them, not including the base game. HARD pass. I'll change my review if things get cheaper.
awful game with an awful community
all it does is crash or lock up
runs like crap because of the lag now fix the game
