It was both fun and a bit shocking to see Laura alive and well. Fun puzzles and great storytelling with SOOOOO many fun secrets and love put in!
the metagame is absolutely mental
As always, an absolute blast playing a Rusty Lake game. I love the concept of the train map corresponding to time. Loved the puzzles, loved the vibe, loved the creepy yet intriguing atmosphere. Definitely a Rusty Lake classic. HOWEVER, I do feel like a large amount of content is hidden in this one. I don't believe this is a norm for the franchise, but maybe around 30% of the game is hidden away from casual players? I mean, there's obviously achievements hinting at further content, but I don't believe the average player will be able to get there without looking it up. Seeing as a bunch of stuff was uncovered via community discussions and events, I guess this might be intentional? But yeah, just a heads up for anyone that thinks they've completed the game at the first ending: There's actually quite a bit more. You'll know you've actually gotten through the whole game if you've completed all the achievements.
Rusty Lake's brand of psycho-horror. If you're here, you've played all the others and liked them. What else is there to say? Only thing I can't stand is the whole meta stuff for some of the achievements, but to each his own.
Maybe I would have liked this game more if I had played any of the other ones in the series first, but I also think games should stand on their own. The puzzles were on the easier end, and so was the story. It did not leave me feeling interested in learning more about these characters. It was okay for the low price I paid on sale. The soundtrack and art style were lovely. But story-wise, nothing was really grabbing me. But if you enjoy puzzle games more than I do, and like a creepy-cute noir atmosphere, it may be worth a shot for you. To get all the achievements, you'll need to go back into the game after you complete it the first time (you are provided a easy way to do this), and spend a lot of extra time playing around, and I think that's really more for people invested into the entire game universe storyline.
