Baba Is You is a puzzle game where the rules you have to follow are present as blocks you can interact with. By manipulating them, you can change how the game works, repurpose things you find in the levels and cause surprising interactions!

Had this in my backlog for ages and finally got it done. A deceptively simple puzzle game, which pans out to be one of the more (if not the most) complex I've played. Stellar game!
if baba was me it'd be so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumb
This is one of the best puzzle games i have ever played in my entire life. The only bad thing about it is that i didn't get to play it until it has had been out for over 7 years. Don't sleep on this gem... At all costs! The puzzles are challenging and require you to think outside the box. I give Baba Is You a 9 out of 10.
Baba Is You is a brilliant game, truly. Although it involves very few pieces, and few moves, the complexity of these simple interactions continues to surprise me. The solution to a level is usually fairly simple, but understanding how things must work together in order to find that solution can require hours of thought. One aspect of Baba I found surprising and unique: the levels are simple enough that if you get stuck on one for a while, you can end up memorizing it, and sure enough actually play the game and solve the level in your own mind! Many of the levels I was the most stuck on (and some took days) ended up being solved while swimming or talking a walk rather than at the computer. That, to me, is the amazing depth of its complexity in simplicity. As a result, none of Baba's challenges involve timing or hand-eye coordination or learned skills or memorizing move-sets. You have infinite undo, and once you see a solution, it's usually possible within a relatively small number of moves. Many people say Baba is extremely hard, and indeed it can be. But I found that playing Baba goes through three stages: In the first stage, the game is somewhat easy. This is true for the first 10-20 levels. In the second stage, it becomes ridiculously hard, fast. I was stuck on some levels for weeks. I even broke down and looked up a hint for one level, just because I couldn't see any way to make progress and it was that or giving up on the game. Now I wish I hadn't, because in phase three... In the third phase, you think like Baba. You know all the possible moves, can see what's required for success, what's available, and the opportunities that exist to connect these two. Many levels are still hard, but they're no longer impossibly hard. In fact, some of the final levels in the game felt as straightforward to solve as the first phase, if only because there weren't any new mechanics to deal with. Extra levels, though, are usually hard, because they often require you to use a standard mechanic in a non-standard way you may not have seen before (or even realized was possible). And there are no hints, no explanations; everything you learn in this game has to be done by experimentation, trial and error. I've recommended Baba to several people now and gotten them hooked as well. I'm in the late stages of the game, and won't give you any kind of level count because I don't want to spoil the wonderful things that unfold in the game as you go further and deeper. Always remember, Baba Is You! I highly, highly recommend this game to anyone that likes to think and have the realization of discovering novelty in what at first appeared mundane.
Mechanics are fun and unique that blow my mind. However the difficulty curves are assigned so bad. After quickly completing the first 2 chapters levels in the game, all players whose intelligence lower than Einstein can not enjoy this game any more and feel upset rapidly.
i mean it starts well, looks really cute and soundtrack is lovely and it's a nice little puzzler... for like two worlds, and then good game design falls off a cliff.
glitching your way into sharing a grid square with some text, and then breaking what should be an unbreakable chain that includes that text, is apparently an intentional mechanic and something you're supposed to figure out without a walkthrough? k
i gave up when
HAS
was introduced, and any logical uses for it just didn't work, and the intended way of using it had no logic to it at all. wish i'd quit sub 2 hours. why is this so overhyped. soundtrack is worth its asking price, game isn't
