  • Step aside, wimps. Listen to a deepbeard. After almost 1000 hours of laboring in the maws of Hoxxes IV my unbegrudgingly verdict is that this enterprise rocks. The booming explosions, the glimmering metals, the mesmerizing music, the phat hips as the dwarves run. It's all magnificent. The whole endeavor is a crystal clear of a beauty to look at, the music is euphonic as it strikes those rich notes, and boy, when the bass drops it's a mystical mix between glory and synth dwarfness that takes you to deeper depths in wonder and inner resonance. The very best gem about this undertaking after so many hours is that the endgame offers a different challenge that changes from the tactical to the strategic. The operation changes from being about raw firepower to correct positioning and teamwork, requiring more thought about how to approach fights and enemy types. Now drop on down and mine it all for yourselves as you go from a lowly greenbeard to a mountainous lavabeard by progressively cranking it up to Haz 5++ while discovering what the fuss is all about with Deep Rock Galactic. Or you can take it easy with your buddy Bosco as you stroll around as if 'listening to a soft wind breathing through the grass, and wonder how any one could ever imagine unquiet slumbers for the sleepers of that quiet earth.' And as always, miners: Rock And Stone

  • I have not had this much fun with an FPS since Killzone. Gameplay loop revolves around doing missions with varied objectives where you fight bugs/robots and gather a wide array of minerals for ammo/health replenishment and reward currency. The missions are always procedurally generated so each one feels different and fresh. Positives: - Very replayable missions with big enemy, layout and objective variety - Good gunplay and mostly well balanced - Fantastic weapon customisation systems, especially with overclocks that can completely change how a weapon functions - Strong class identity, great for us RPG lovers - Space dwarf vibes are done really well, with each biome and enemy having its flavour - Excellent sound design - Many visual customisation options and rewards to earn - Very generous pricing and no microtransactions (only several dev supporter packs), entirety of post-launch content was added for free - Plethora of difficulty options and modifiers that allow you to have fun regardless of your skill/experience with FPS games - Although it's namely a co-op game it can still be enjoyed solo with a helper bot that assists you in various ways Negatives: - There is jank (especially with player collision and some achievements) but nothing too annoying - Bad reconnect feature that does not work most of the time - Perk system is poorly designed; many are useless, Dash should have been a baseline ability and Iron Will is so much better than everything else - Some bosses are pretty meh/annoying - Cosmetics should be unlocked for every class at the same time, no reason for having to unlock the same reward four times Overall strong recommend. It's also often on sale and for that price a real steal.

  • I've been playing this game consistently for the past 4 years I genuinely think deep rock galactic is one of those games that no matter how much time has passed you will always come back by yourself or with some friends and have a ♥♥♥♥ ton of fun. Even with that said I can't recommend this game anymore just simply based off the fact that the developers have basically given up on this game. Season 6 was a major disappointment, you'd think that after almost 2 years of waiting we'd get more than just 2 warnings that are just the 2 enemies from one new area. Granted, ossuary depths is actually a really cool area and is the highlight of the season but for an update that took almost 2 years to come out, it is seriously disappointing. Aside from other problems like false promises and no perk tree rework, the sheer existence of games like deep rock galactic survivor and roguecore infuriate me. Deep rock galactic is damn near a perfect game and yet there are so many problems that haven't been worked on and instead have a lot of their resources be put onto subpar games like survivor and roguecore. I could give less of a ♥♥♥♥ about survivor because people actually like the game but roguecore averages a 1/10 of drg's player count and ~1/3 of deep rock galactic survivors player count. This is what makes me so mad is that deep rock galactic could've had so much cooler stuff, enemies and concepts that would've made deep rock's gameplay loop way more interesting. Instead we got a game that nobody likes because deep rocks concept doesn't mesh well with roguelike/roguelite aspects. And also, i get it, gsg got bored of drg and wanted to make a whole new game or that they added so much stuff that it might aswell be another game but ♥♥♥♥ me man drg was so close SO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CLOSE TO BEING A TOP 10 GAME. Now atp im just going to lower my standards for upcoming seasons until this games end and end up with a game with way too much potential that just makes me sad.

  • You abandoned the main game. You went off to make all sorts of spin-offs and extra materials. You’re still completely ignoring the main game. You promised that right after Rogue Core there would be a thematic Season. You delayed Rogue Core for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ long time. No Rogue Core, no content for the main game. You’re putting out a lazy half-assed Season. Rogue Core is coming out raw, uninteresting, paid (30$), and unfinished — a failed project that will never bring the player base back. (Rogue Core could be the best DLC for the main game, but u decide to farm money on it) You’re announcing Seasons 7 and 8, Season 8 will launch with paid content DLC, yet at the same time you claim that Season 8 will end up being the poorest in content (and how much poorer can it even get?). I don’t get it — this is not Rock and Stone from the developers at all.

  • Its not a bad game. In fact the first few days where actually enjoyable but after I started seeing a predictable pattern. The game starts feeling very repetative, run around the cave look for ores then kill bugs. Well obviously....but that is all you do any of the various missions is only slightly different and that is only a handful. The upgrades are good but really at the end of the day I realised I was diving into these caves for cosmetic rewards and to be honest if thats really why im grinding these caves then I dont see the point in playing. Future Seasons dont add anything new besides fancy dress lol.

  • game based on a great base and premise, started playing from 2022 on and off. Almost every game aspect about it is good - your dwarf, guns, enemies, missions, mechanics. People sink thousands of hours because there's so much variety and arbitrary stuff to do like grinding free seasons. Some people don't like endless cosmetics but like what else do you do in a game which easily offers 50+ hours of content. terrible devs. They left the modding scene completely unaddressed, threw modders into the trash giving 0 tools to mod the game, put in their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ half-baked mod manager into the game, hosted mods on mod.io which is known to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. All they responded with is "we will look into it". Why it matters? Don't advertise mods as part of the game if you hate modders. don't touch the community outside of the game its vomit. The official discord server is run by idiots and fan-made ones are dumber and more entitled. last season is bad, the 6th one is a miss being worse unlike season 1-4s which have huge variety in enemies and missions(and even then people were pissed off about seasons 3-4). Literally has nothing besides frustrating enemies and a super bad mission type. No even overclocks or new non-season enemies. developers forgot what made drg good, which is super evident in their new title "Rogue Core". Thank god that was never added to base drg. They should've expanded the company or taken some time developing DRG and Rogue Core but all that left is a decent but shat on title and a straight up bad game. Dev ego circumcised the game's potential.
