  • Ahe , , , Actually it turned out pretty good extremely good id even say Mesmerizing. Gripping story beautiful characters gorgeous sound - all of it is there. Game have so many little details that make you smile from the style of communication to the dialogues themselves that pop up in the most unexpected places. Some of the music is still swirling around in my head. Ending left me with melancholic warm feelings tinged with notes of a bittersweet sense of something left unsaid.

  • Mesmalie is an enjoyable Point and Click story game. I like the art style and the story was adequately interesting. The soundtrack was solid. The game is short, though that works better for Mesmalie in my opinion. Pace of the game felt just right and Mesmer is depicted well enough to be fully understood. I know of the ????? dialogue in the true ending but I do wish there were a bit more of an epilogue specifically on Mesmer afterward even if it were just told in an image or something.

  • Extremely cute and charming narrative adventure that presents fun twists in its gameplay and unravels from a funny, goofy comedy with a dark tinge to a bittersweet tragedy about moving on from past mistakes and embracing the confidence others have in you. The game is energized a lot by Mesmer's charm as a character, frequently stealing the show whenever she's on screen - whatever you like her or not will probably dictate your enjoyment of the game heavily, but chances are you probably will!

  • One of the few games I would unironically call a hidden gem. This was a ton of fun to play and I do plan on 100%ing it. After experiencing the true ending, I can say with confidence that the story is great, the characters are masterful, and the pacing is surprisingly coherent. There's no point in Mesmalie that I'd consider filler, which is something that many visual novels struggle with; every chapter of it serves a purpose, and it's really fun to replay them all for the different endings. I also haven't crushed on a character as hard as I've done with Mesmer in YEARS, so I must thank the devs for that. love the mesma cherish the mesma

Negative

  • False advertising. Only one of the three witches from the coven greeted me, and she turned out to be an amateur who was using me to complete a ritual. I did not tame my magik. In all seriousness, I kind of wish there was more of the point-and-click aspect and a stronger sense of progression with your pyrokinesis. The demo made it seem like you'd gradually learn to control and develop your abilities, unlocking new techniques as the story progressed. Instead, what you get is closer to a Greek tragedy, where you're slowly being set up to take the fall for someone else's mistakes. That's an interesting premise in its own right, and I can appreciate what the story is trying to do, but it wasn't what I was looking for when I started playing. I went in expecting a coming-of-age journey centered around mastering a dangerous power, with the mystery and character interactions supporting that progression. But spoiler alert, only Mesmer grows as a person. It's not necessarily bad, but it left me feeling like the game advertised in the demo and the game I ended up playing were aiming for very different experiences.
