Played this whenever I had free time, such a chill game to just relax and play. I hope they're making new stuff like this. This is really the type of game I needed, something that doesn't require too much commitment and I can play whenever I want without having to remember anything. Trying to find more stuff like this. The cozy look and feel of the game is just perfect. 10/10
Loved the gameplay. Loved the little plot line that ran throughout - thought that was a great little touch. Hope they make another one. Completed the game in 4.5 hours. Was hard enough that it didn't feel underwhelming, but not to hard to be annoying or make me wanna look up hints and tips. Now I just need to go back and complete the achievements! :-)
I bought this right before vacation, and honestly, that was probably the perfect time to play it. It’s a simple, cozy puzzle game built around short sessions, where you arrange groups of people based on their preferences, dislikes, and weird little quirks. The puzzles are generally well balanced, with only a couple toward the end giving me real trouble. The biggest issue is that each level is split into roughly four minilevels that tell a small story, making every session feel longer than it should. You constantly think, “Well, I already started this one, might as well finish it.” The concept also gets repetitive fairly quickly, and a few extra minigames or mechanics could have helped break things up. The art is charming, the little scenarios are funny, and the game works best when played in short bursts on something like a Steam Deck. I actually think playing it almost exclusively over a couple of long sessions made the repetition much more noticeable. Still, it’s a good little game to have around for those dead moments when you have ten minutes to kill. Just don't be the guy on the bus who smells terrible and then complains about someone else's cologne. Seriously, sir, get off the bus.
It's a short but fun game, the story is good and the challenges get progressively harder. Good for passing the time. :D
It's well made and all but the mechanic got stale for me pretty quick. It's just not my type of puzzle game. In theory, I like the idea of previous placements affecting the subsequent ones but in practice, having to redo the entire level because you put someone with nachos in the wrong place and now you have no solvable solution isn't fun. Shout out for making the game Mac compatible though!
On sale recommendation. Cute and well made puzzler, but I can't recommend Is This Seat Taken at full price. This is chiefly since the game seems too short to justify the $10 price. Personally I expect at least an hour of gameplay per dollar spent on a game. The puzzles get rather repetitive, and the story is quite basic, so I personally wasn't drawn to play more than 3 hours considering the opportunity cost. Similarly, the average time to beat is only around 5 hours. Also, the game seems to accidentally push an anti-going-out-into-public narrative. This is since puzzles are mostly based on "look how annoying people in public are": things like I don't want to sit next to someone playing loud music, how to arrange luggage, or ew kids. Well I imagine this finds much camaraderie among gamers, I personally would have found the game more interesting if it wasn't also so repetitive in theme.
═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══ This game is quite nice if you are looking for a short and cozy story combined with puzzle elements. You need to seat each person according to their wishes; sometimes places get really crowded and you have to try a few options until everyone is happy. However, not only is the game quite short, but it also gets very repetitive. After 2-3 cities, I kind of stopped enjoying it that much. I played it until the end to get all the achievements, and you can tell the creators put a lot of love into it. But if you're searching for a long-lasting puzzle game, this isn't it. The storyline is cute, yet somewhat basic & predictable and it doesn't really build up throughout the game. ═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══
