  • Woodo is the kind of game that quietly reminds you how precious time really is. I went into Woodo not knowing much about the game, I saw Insym playing it and I thought it looked like a cozy game I would like. At its heart, it's a story about Foxy and Ben and the love they share. I wasn’t expecting it to affect me as deeply as it did or to make me cry. I lost my mom almost a year and a half ago, and losing her has changed the way I think about time. When someone who has been such a fundamental part of your life is suddenly no longer there, you become painfully aware of all those ordinary moments you once assumed you would have forever. The conversations, the little routines, the time spent simply being together. You don't realize how precious those moments are until they become memories. Woodo brought some of that feeling back to me. Beneath its story and its characters, I found something that felt much bigger than a romance. It reminded me that our time with the people we love is finite, and that the seemingly insignificant moments can end up meaning everything. I finished this game with tears in my eyes, thinking about my mom and how much I wish I could have just one more ordinary day with her. Sometimes a game doesn't need to be complicated to leave a lasting impression. Woodo reminded me that love is also found in the time we give each other and that time is something we can never get back.

  • This is a warm hug and a mug type of game, perfect for cozy season! It’s a simple, yet heartfelt interactive story. It’s about a little box of memories and the things that we hold onto and treasure. It’s about the people and memories that shape us. You put puzzle pieces together, and a whole story unfolds. You are treated with not only stunning wooden dioramas but voiceover narrative coupled with soothing music and ambient sounds. This game wants you to slow down. Take a moment to enjoy the birds chirping, the sun kissing the wooden blocks and the ‘clickity clack’ as you are encouraged to interact with everything. So don’t be afraid to click on things. Because it’s more than just putting pieces into place. It’s a gentle reminder to appreciate the process as well. If you are looking for a complex puzzle game, this isn’t it. But if you are looking for something with heart and soul, then this is for you. • Such a simple concept, but oh myyyy god, this is SO relaxing and truely one of those 'cozy blanket games' where you just slow down, and enjoy. I had 4+ hours of pure, uninterrupted brain-off cozy time with this one. No stress. No rushing. Nothing complicated demanding the last surviving brain cell I had left for the day. Just small wooden pieces, and me happily clicking them into place. All while you follow Foxy and Ben the frog through small moments and memories from their adventures together. having this little story about childhood, friendship and nostalgia unfolding in the background while sitting playing this, made the whole experience feels extra perfect for autumn and winter. A blanket, something warm to drink, rain tapping against the window, WOODO open on the screen... yeeeep! Thats the vibe. ☕🍂 Very calm. Very gentle. Very cozy. One of the best smaller puzzles i played this year for sure! 100% recommend this one! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3806504940

  • The softest blanket of cozy games. All of the warmest elements of early childhood nostalgia: organic colors, tactile blocks, gentle storytelling, plenty of quirky animal friends. For anyone wondering about gameplay length: at about three hours in, I just hit the “halfway there” mark. Woodo is worth every penny.

Negative

  • The game starts of strong. It is very cute, the story is just interesting enough that you want to learn more, without you feeling like you can't put the game down. However, the further you get into the game, the more it introduces arbitrary restrictions. Where you once started out with all of the pieces, you start getting one at a time and you cannot get another until you find its place. Or you get might only get three at a time. It loses the enjoyment because instead of you discovering where things go at your own pace or in your own way, you're limited with a poor attempt of introducing novelty. Unfortunately, as it is, I wouldn't recommend the game without it having a steep discount.

  • I really loved this game at first. It’s beautiful, gentle, and full of warmth and calm. The art style is absolutely stunning, and I loved all the little details. Playing it felt relaxing and comforting. Unfortunately, I ran into a bug on the Underroof level that completely ruined the experience for me. The character gets stuck in a hysterical state, making awful distressed crying sounds over and over again. The hint system doesn’t help either — it keeps telling me to put the last three items into a drawer that isn’t active, so I can’t progress. It’s especially frustrating because I was genuinely enjoying the game until this happened.

  • There are other reviews showing my same gripes with this game. Overall, the game is cute in it's concept. Building a diorama in a 3d space like putting together a 3d puzzle. It's a really good idea that drew me into the game in the first place. Reading the reviews it had a "heartwarming" story too... I really hate the main character. I wish I played with no narration / voice because I HATE this Foxy. I have a lot of issue with the story (where I am, I have not finished) as a whole. I do intend on finishing the game, hoping that it gets better. I really enjoyed the first half of what I played (aside from the main character) than the second half. The game play is fun... For the first half of the game... Then the game gets rid of all that and forces you to spend as much time active in game as possible so you can't refund it. In the beginning it gives nearly all of the pieces of the puzzle and tells you asks you to fit them in... Then it starts hiding pieces of the puzzle... Then it starts only giving you one piece of the puzzle at a time.... That's where I was like okay this isn't fun anymore... THEN it gives you 1-2 pieces at a time (I honestly couldn't tell) but doesn't even show you where the pieces are. It's cool that they were like built into the idea of the story but................. Please keep in mind I refuse to use hints...There are hint buttons that I'm sure I could press to instantly solve my problem... There was one point where something seems like it was exactly where it was supposed to be. Didn't consider it at all. I already spent time trying to figure out what was floating around on my screen that was active puzzle piece or something I already placed.... I finally pressed the hint button and it was the think I thought was already supposed to be there... This is coming from sometimes you'll get a floating puzzle piece of a bird and it also just looked like it's supposed to be there... That's what what broke me but it's part of the problem. Needs work. Puzzle pieces need to be like a little more obvious? Not like you need to hold my hand but make them so they don't already look like it belongs where it is... Sometimes you autofill thing I had nothing to do with. Also, the audio, GOOD GOD THE AUDIO. Look, it's cute the diorama does little animations and sounds. That's awesome.... Don't make this hapen while I'm just randomly moving my mouse around looking for the puzzle piece you hid ten miles off the map under a bridge. Make the animation / audio que happen on... Actively clicking the piece in the diorama... Not just passing your mouse over it. Anyway... Cute game I hate, I'll finish it but I hate the main character and how much it seems like she wants to be with her uncle or something and the game design is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

  • WhWHhhHhyYyy?!?!? Spiiiider the size of a house cat?!!?!? I'm sure plenty of people will enjoy this "cozy" game, but it raised my stress levels about 150% (and rising) because arachnophobia. If you don't mind having to place a giant spider with wriggly legs and bambi eyes, I'm sure it's fine, but I had zero patience for the levels in which it appeared (four), and to add insult to injury, it also made an appearance in the credits. I also was stressed in the levels it didn't appear because I didn't know if it might show up somewhere and I just hadn't seen it yet (which was the case for some of the levels it did show up in). Not bothering with getting all the achievements. I should have just asked for a refund when it first showed up, but I was hoping it would only be in that one puzzle. Aside from that, I don't enjoy games or puzzles where I'm unboxing one item at a time, so that level was tedious. Thought it would be more like the demo, but every level 'had' to have a gimmick. I prefer having access to all of the pieces on the side to pick and choose which ones stand out first. Not at all the relaxing game I thought it would be.
